Winegrowers for generations, the Cheurlin family has written the history of Champagne. In 1788, Joseph Cheurlin, a priest in Landreville, signed the first deed of purchase for vineyard land, which he used to make his own wine.

A century later, Edmond Cheurlin (1881-1946), took part in the great “Champagne Revolution” to ensure that the Champagne appellation was finally recognized in their department. Then his son Raymond (1909-1994) decided to develop all the stages of champagne production, from vine to bottle. He created his brand. Since then, the family has vinified champagnes from father to son.

Today, Lucie and Sébastien’s know-how is based on that of their ancestors: ploughing the soils, balanced pruning and strict de-budding. As children, Sébastien remembers long walks with Etienne, their great-grandfather, as he taught him to listen to and feel nature in the midst of the vines. Lucie especially remembers the plant magician who cured her many childhood ailments with herbal teas and applications. As for Richard, their father, the family enthusiast and lover of wine and nature, he taught them to respect their vineyards and also to vinify each parcel separately in order to respect their identity.

The search for authenticity, authenticity, and pleasure are essential elements of the Cheurlin ambition, but they don’t hesitate to draw inspiration from the latest technologies, both in the vineyard and in the cellar: lightened tractors, aromatherapy to care for the vines, temperature-controlled vats, low-temperature fermentation...

Lucie and Sébastien cultivate their 5 hectares on the Côte des Bar using organic viticulture: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a small amount of Pinot Blanc. The vineyard has been certified AB by ECOCERT France SAS since 2011.
